Madelynn Green (b. 1993, Milwaukee) is a visual artist based in London and a recent fine arts graduate of Central Saint Martins. Green’s paintings are rooted in the artist’s political background, embodying and narrating the underrepresented history of marginalised experiences, addressing themes of memory, domesticity, nostalgia and crowd dynamics. Inspired by film photography, the paintings are the result of personal and archival images that are re-interpreted, creating counter-hegemonic images that recount a variety of experiences rooted in political and social structures. Green is currently in a 3-month residency at V.O Curations that will culminate in a group exhibition.
