Dala Nasser (b. 1990, Lebanon) is an artist that lives and works in Beirut and London. Nasser is a material-based artist who applies an interdisciplinary approach to her works ranging from painting, to performance, and films. She works through abstraction and alternative forms of image making. Her works examine the human and non-human entanglement in the perpetually deteriorating environmental, historical and political conditions resulting from practices of extraction and generations of colonial erasure. Dala uses a range of materials to examine histories, ecologies, and toxicity in her works producing context-specific installations.
Nasser holds a BA in Fine Art from Slade School of Fine Arts, London (2016) and an MFA in Painting/ Printmaking from Yale School of Art (2021). She has been awarded the Sursock Museum 32nd Salon D’Automne Emerging Artist Prize, Beirut (2017) and nominated for the Follow Fluxus - After Fluxus art prize (2022).
