30.11.20228:00pm—9:30pm56 Conduit Street
To coincide with Guendalina Cerruti’s solo show 'Ohh… Youth!' at V.O Curations, the artist Daria Blum will perform a series of musical interventions in response to the exhibition, on Wednesday 30 November at 7pm. Riffing off the themes in the show, Circumbendibus Vol. 2 reflects on feelings of belonging and self-empowerment in relation to contemporary fashions and non-heteronormative relationships. With Cerruti’s beaded cage acting as a structure of separation and confinement, the live actions performed within will function as attempts to reject structure and invite disorder.
Daria Blum (b. 1992, Lucerne, CH) is a visual artist, performer, and musician. Her work interweaves autobiographical events with common experience through the use of stereotypical characters and archetypes. She choreographs live performance, music, text and moving image, implementing both the seductive qualities of sound and the mainstream appeal of pop music to focus on the politics surrounding emotions and their expression and reception in media and contemporary culture.
Daria Blum is currently completing the postgraduate programme at the Royal Academy Schools, after graduating with a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins in 2017. She has recently exhibited and performed in London at Kupfer, Moarain House, Royal Academy of Arts (2022), and the Averard Hotel (2021), as well as MAXXI Museum, Rome and Latvian National Museum of Art, Riga (2019).
