Jordan Derrien (b. 1994, Caen) develops a multidisciplinary practice which involves the exploration of a closed and frontal pictorial space. At the intersection between object and painting, he is interested in the concepts of obstruction and concealment through processes of series and repetition, often borrowing from a domestic language.
Solo exhibitions include 'Painted on The Wall of The Inn at Marlotte', Des Bains, London (2024); ‘RAF-IDCC-RHB-RPM’, Colette Mariana, Barcelona (2024); ‘Wonderfulness/dogma/sash/both’, Les Bains-Douches, Alençon (2023); ‘Bushels of Goodness and Warmth’, V.O Curations, London (2022). His work has featured in group exhibitions including ‘Cassoni. Peintures-Boîtes’, Galerie Anne Barrault, Paris (2022), ‘Nous Irons Tous au Paradis’, FRAC Normandie Caen (2021); ‘Hetton Lawn’, Haus Wien, Vienna (2021); CBARET: What Not Speak Easy’, LAXART, Los Angeles (2019).
